The
Tale of Katy Kristin
Once upon a time, a girl who
loved making and collecting things was born.
Her name was Katy Kristin Bowen.
She was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area
and, by and by, went to art school at UCLA.
Suddenly, Katy found that she was mostly
grown up and had to go to work. Whatever
could she do?
Lo and behold, she actually used her art
degree and went to work making stuff for
movies
and
tv. She made clay characters for Mr.
Bill shows
(from Saturday
Night Live) and for
Mad TV claymations (Furious
George, CLOPS).
She also edited some documentaries (New
Orleans: A Natural History and The
Battle of New Orleans).
Then she made more clay characters for some
Public Service Announcements about hurricane
evacuation and wetlands restoration for the
Gulf Coast region. She helped make stuff
for attractions at Sea World and Universal
Studios, and she did sign art for her
local Trader Joe's, too.
She
also built lots of miniature buildings and
things
for
special
effects
shops, but most of them were blown up.
One day, in the middle of all the working,
Katy decided she still really liked making
things that weren’t always for films
and tv and such. She really liked making
stuff to wear and making toys and painting
pictures.
So Katy began
having some art shows and selling her jewelry
and
clothes
and stuffed
animals.
She liked it so much, she decided that’s
what she really wanted to do when she grew
up.
So
she did, and Katy’s living happily
ever after back in the Bay Area again.
